Mission Statement

Northwest Lagotto | Mission Statement

Far more than just raising puppies, we drive to instill in your puppy the skills they will need to make wonderful, loving companions for you.  Of course we are ethical, active and involved breeders in good standing with the American Kennel Club, the Lagotto Romagnolo Club of America and the LagottoFoundation.  We believe in promoting this special breed by producing healthy, unique, top quality dogs, with a focus on sound temperaments, increased genetic diversity, and disease-free puppies.  From birth, we nurture our puppies in an enriched environment that increases the health, intelligence, and emotional stability of the Lagotto Romagnolo Dog through early neurological stimulation and Puppy Culture Protocols.  We do not linebreed or inbreed our dogs but outcross all of our Lagotto Romagnolo to preserve genetic diversity. We strive to produce puppies that are healthy, highly intelligent, mentally stable and capable of going into any type of work, sport or family life desired by their owners.

The dog comes first at Northwest Lagotto’s. We believe that raising highly intelligent and social Lagotto’s begins with an enriched home environment rather than keeping them in kennels. We maintain our dogs in a manner that respects their needs and their right to live a fulfilling life.  They are family.

We believe that Lagotto make great family members.  We only breed dogs that have proven themselves day in and day out in our home, our local town’s streets, in businesses, traveling, and during family gatherings.  We achieve these aims through clarity, honesty, and a complete dedication to the following:

1- Breeding only the best, show quality, proven family companion and working Lagotto’s.

2- Providing early stimulation to all puppies through Early Neurological Stimulation and Puppy Culture Protocols.

3- Providing lifetime support to all owners of our dogs.

4- Outcrossing our breeding pairs. Please read "Our thoughts On Linebreeding" page.
